The Root Chakra is named Mūlādhārain Sanskrit, the first chakra in the body’s chakra system.
It rules over survival, security, and our most basic needs such as food, sleep, shelter, and self-preservation.
The center of our safety and security.
Muladhara is responsible for strengthening ties with the material world.
Through it, the energy of the Universe enters the terrestrial layers.
Chakras are the energy centers within the human body that help to regulate everything from organ function to our immune system and emotions.
Through the root chakra, all living things are connected to the earth, from which, in fact, the birth and development of all of us depend.
It makes us feel stable and abundant or it leaves us anxious and in-state or scarcity and lack.

Location in the Body
Found at the base of the spine, somewhere around the perineum and it corresponds to the section of the spine called the coccyx.
Relates to the earth element and therefore to all solid earthly things as for example our bodies, our health, our survival, our material, and monetary existence as well as our ability to manifest our needs.

Visualized as a deep vibrant red which is the color of the beginning, the color with the longest wavelength and the lowest vibration in the visible spectrum.
