The Summer Solstice has just passed, marking the ‘official’ beginning of summer.

Since ancient times, people have associated the seasons with different energies. Summer is associated with excitement, joy, and passion. As the sun gets closer and closer to earth, temperatures rise, the days are long, and there is an abundance of energy everywhere.

Most plants are in full bloom now.

The trees are covered in their leaves, and all of life is awake and active, from the hummingbirds and bees during the day, to the frogs and crickets at night. We feel this burst of energy as well. We start to go outside more, participating in activities like hiking, swimming, and camping. We have many social events to attend, like barbecues and picnics, as summer is a joyous and social time of the year.

In all, we are motivated, happy, and full of life at this time. There is summer energy found in many places, one of them being in the form of certain crystals. If one is wishing to connect to the energies of summer through stones, here are some that are associated with the season.

Carrying the power of the sun, Citrine brings warmth, joy, and happiness into one’s life. It is a natural birthstone of those born at the beginning of summer. Citrine transforms negative energy into positivity and helps one move forward in life, enjoying new experiences and adventures.

As its name suggests, Sunstone is connected to the sun. Ancients believed Sunstone was part of the sun and fell to earth during a full solar eclipse. It carries the energy of the Egyptian sun god, Ra, and brings energy to all of life on earth. Sunstone provides one’s life with joy, freedom, and personal power.

Ancient Egyptians called this stone ‘the setting sun’. Connecting to our Sacral Chakra, it controls the flow of life force energy through our bodies, increasing energy, motivation, and passion. Carnelian is a stone of pleasure and joy. It is helpful in bringing people together.

Representing the primordial fires, Garnet is a stone of intense passion and energy. It restores energy to the physical body and the chakras, activating and cleansing them. It enhances survival instincts and provides good protective energy.

Tiger’s Eye

A combination of earth and sun energy, Tiger’s Eye is a stone of balance. It grounds solar energies, connecting to our lower chakras and bringing vital energy and motivation to the self. It aids in courage and protection and was worn by ancient warriors for its strength and good luck.

Harness the power of ALL the crystals of the summer solstice.
