Do you ever feel stressed? Overwhelmed? Irritated by the smallest things? Feel as though you're being crushed under the weight of your responsibilities?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then I just want to take a moment to tell you:

You aren't suffering alone. There are hundreds of thousands of people in the world who feel the same way... every. single. day. 

 

Today, I want to celebrate World Meditation Day with you, and tell you everything you need to know about meditation, and how it has helped drastically change my life, and the people who surround me every day. 



Meditation has changed my life. 

Knowledge is power! 

Have you heard of meditation?


When you think about meditation, what's the first thing that comes to mind?
Waste of time? Weird? Annoying? Boring? 

"Yeah, I've heard of it. You just sit silently for a long period of time and say "omm" repeatedly, right?"

This is the answer I normally get when I mention that I meditate, or tell others they should consider meditation to deal with the daily stresses of life. 

Meditation is so much MORE than "sitting silently and saying "omm" a bunch of times! 

Meditation is a means of transforming the mind.

It is a precise technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is totally different from the normal waking state.

 Focusing your mind on a particular object, thought or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. 

Buddha was once asked, "What do you gain from meditation?"

He replied, "Absolutely nothing. But, please, let me tell you what I've lost:"

"ANGER, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, INSECURITY, FEAR OF OLD AGE & DEATH."

Meditation has been practiced in cultures all over the world for thousands of years.
It has made a significant difference for those who have tried and stuck with it - I hope that it will have the same results for you. 

Meditation is a journey. 

Inner peace begins the moment you take a deep breath and choose not to allow another person or anything to control your emotions.

Discipline is what allows you to teach your mind to be alert and aware, but do nothing of all the negativity and stress that you are now aware of. 


Have you ever considered starting a meditation ritual?

Tools? Knowledge? Fear? Lack of belief? 

Everything you need, your courage, strength, compassion, and love: everything you need is already within you.

Training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts can be a long process...

It’s one of those things where the journey is more important than the destination.

But, your inner silence will unfold at a natural pace.

Meditation strengthens a person’s cognitive ability to regulate ones emotions and cope everyday anxiety. 

By gaining awareness for one's physical and mental state in the moment, habitual meditation allows for more adaptive reactions to difficult situations.

This can be mental disease and physical disease. Don't believe me?

Think about a stomach ulcer - most commonly caused by an increase in cortisol (stress hormone) in the body.

It's amazing how much of a negative impact stress has on our physical bodies; imagine what it's doing to your mental being and spirit.

A recent study discovered that by activating and reinforcing some areas of the brain used in pain processing, meditation has the overall effect of helping to reduce pain intensity in patients. 

But it’s not just the pain that hurts; your mind can start to suffer as you desperately try to find a way of escaping.

Believe it or not, meditation is now prescribed to help patients cope with the suffering arising from pain. 

Try meditation for your next headache, stomach-ache, or overall -ache anywhere on your body. I think you'll be amazed at it's abilities to relieve pain with medication. 

Promote Positive Life 

Meditation can help carry you more calmly through your day, think more happy thoughts, and let your spirits lifted by positive energy. 

It allows your mind to clear and think logically about your life without the distractions going on around you.

 Positive mental attitude allows you an easy manifestation of anything you want, whether it be love, good health, wealth, more friends, or success.

When you start naturally tuning into your thoughts and feelings during meditation, you'll know that something is definitely working. 

People are different. For some, meditation is life-changing immediately. For others, the journey takes a little longer.

 You learn from other people's experiences, as well as your own. 

Helping them understand why they should start their meditation.
